This past Fall, Dr. Worrell participated in a training program through the University of Pennsylvania, learning strategies to help develop new ways of thinking and responding to environmental stimuli. This has been termed "Resilience Training". This is being used as a means to help those under severe stress develop tools to become more resilient. After completing the initial course at Penn, Kareen was selected as one of a handful of "Facilitators". She has begun working with instructors and groups of Sargents in the US Military, teaching these techniques. The goal is for these Sargents to then be able to teach these techniques to their troops. "It was awesome", was her initial response when asked how the first round went, "those guys in the Military are great". While this will require her to be out of the office frequently over the Springtime months, we are excited to support her in this important work!
